Google Code Subversion repository

| Wednesday, November 28, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

Whenever I was trying to access my blog using Mozilla Firefox, I was being asked for a username and password. A dialog box was popping up saying Authentication Required.
I was totally unaware of what it was. I felt my blog was hacked by someone. But the strange thing was that this dialog box was not showing up on other browsers. the next thing that cam to my mind was, my browser Mozilla Firefox was effected with virus.

Cause of this problem

Well, I went through the codes of my template and found that it was all due to a JavaScript.

How to get rid of this?

  1. Just goto Template > Edit HTML.
  2. Use Ctrl+F to search googlecode.com
Now, just delete the codes shown in the box above. Save the template.

What are these codes?

Well, these are codes to display pagination (Page numbers). You might have gone through a tutorial on the web that tells you how to add this pagination feature. The JavaScript provided in that tutorial causes this error.

Removing CSS

You have removed the JavaScript but along with that there are some codes in the CSS that helps the browser in displaying the page numbers. It is not necessary to remove these CSS codes but unused code causes increase in loading time of your page. So let us decrease the loading time

Just delete the CSS codes shown in the box above. You are done.

DirectX 11.1 (3D) Feature Exclusively on Windows 8

| Monday, November 26, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

The latest upgrade to DirectX, Microsoft’s collection of APIs for gaming and multimedia programs, will be available solely to Windows 8 users. Previous versions of Windows have been excluded from this update, the chief feature of which is native support for stereoscopic 3D. So those of you who are still battling with the decision of whether or not to upgrade to Windows 8 may find this new feature to be just the reason to flip over to the other side.

A look at the new functions that Microsoft has added to DirectX 11.1 would make it seem as though Microsoft has made this upgrade exclusive to Windows 8 as a means to make people adapt the new OS. The most significant feature added in this DirectX update is the native stereoscopic 3D support. Before this update game developers had to incorporate stereoscopic 3D support directly in the software and program it keeping specific graphics cards in mind that would be able to support it. In any case, stereoscopic 3D is a feature that most gamers don’t seem to take much advantage of. But those who want to play PC games in the future with native stereo-3D support would definitely need to upgrade to Windows 8.

DirectX 11.1 will be compatible only with Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Server 2012. Microsoft has no plans to make DirectX 11.1 work with Windows 7 or Vista. Microsoft says that DirectX 11.1 is exclusive to Windows 8 the way DirectX 11 was to Windows 7. But while Microsoft had later made DirectX 11 available for Vista, as of now it has no plans to make DirectX 11.1 available to any other Windows versions.

But the fact that you can get DirectX 11.1 only if you’re a Windows 8 user should not necessitate a shift to that operating system considering most games these days still continue to be based on the older DirectX 9. Although developers have started to make games for DirectX 11 that works on Windows 7 systems now, it’ll still be a long time till there will be extensive support for DirectX 11.1. Thus, there doesn’t seem to be any need to switch to Windows 8 only for the purpose of being able to use the newest DirectX update.

However, it is possible that Microsoft doesn’t retrofit DirectX 11.1 for any older Windows versions the way it did for DirectX 11. And in that case any future updates it may have planned for DirectX would probably require multimedia users and gamers to move over to Windows 8 to access other important features. But for the present, only those of you who have to use a lot of 3D software need to worry about upgrading to Windows 8 and benefiting from the stereoscopic 3D support.

Ultimately it depends on whether or not developers make use of the new features exclusive to DirectX 11.1 in their software. If not, then there seems to be no reason to worry about not having a DirectX 11.1 supported Windows OS.

Sticky Notes application for Android

| Tuesday, November 20, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

In Android devices the usual way to create a note is by using memo application that comes pre-installed. But you cannot put it on your home screen, just like sticky notes in Windows 7.

Well, all Android users can have the same functionality through an app available on Google Play and that too for free. One of the best feature of this app is the intelligent blurring of the background when you open your note.

Sticky Note

After installing this application from Google Play, go to your home screen and tap and hold to open up Add to Home screen menu. Select Widget from there and in the list of available widgets search for Sticky Note widget. There are two widget, 1*1 and 2*2, select anyone they are just the size of widget select smaller one if your note title is small about three words or about 19 characters otherwise bigger one (2*2).

Now enter title and description in your note and select a color your note will get created. You can also add your note to calender by selecting the date and time. The default calender application is used to create event, that is what happens when you add your note to calender.

How to edit a note already created?

If you have created a note and it is now on your screen. To edit it, just tap to open that note and then long tap the opened note to access menu that will allow you to edit, SMS and Email that note.

How to delete Note?

Deleting is just like removing any gadget from your home screen, i.e., long tap that note wait for your device to vibrate and then drag it down to remove bar at the bottom.

Minimum Cost to move to WordPress

| Monday, November 19, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

To host a WordPress blog, you need a hosting account. There are a number of  hosting providers available that will help you in hosting your WordPress blog. The top hosting companies for hosting a WordPress or any other open source CMS blog are Dreamhost, Bluehost, Hostgator, GoDaddy, etc.

WordPress Joomla Drupal
Starter plan for a shared hosting account are:
(NOTE- The pricing given below is for 36 months period, i.e. you have to pay for 36 months altogether.)

Brief Review
HostBrief Review
DreamhostThere is only one plan for shared hosting.Subscription amount is $8.95/mo. They have cut down the cost to $3.95 on new years eve 2013.
BluehostThe general price is $4.95/mo. But they run promo from time to time, under which they will provide you same hosting plan in just $3.95/mo.
Hostgator$3.96/mo
GoDaddyThis one is costly service as you have to register domain separately. Hosting charge is $4.24/mo. But only 10 GB of disk storage is available and there is a limit of 100 mail ids. Now, that is a different thing that a general blog will take almost at-least one year to fill this much space and that too if you are putting large number of media files.

Is that it?

Well, no. These plans only include charges for web hosting and domain registration only. There are several Add On that are required for better protection of your website. They are available for domain WHOIS privacy, SSL certificate, backup pro, etc.

Add Ons
Host Brief Review
Dreamhost Non found so far. But after this plan degrade to $3.95 there are add-ons like
SSL certificate- $15/year
Unique Ip Address- $3.95/mo
Bluehost SiteLock Domain Security- $14.99/year
Site Backup Pro- $12.95/year
Search Engine Jumpstart- $14.99/year
Domain Whois Privacy- $9.99/year
Hostgator Domain Privacy Protection- $9.95/year
SiteLock: Highly Recommended—Secure your Website- $14.99/year
goMobi Mobile Website Builder- $4.95/mo
GoDaddy Email- cost per year depends on the time of subscription
SSL Certificates- depends on number of domains and sub-domains

Are these Add Ons optional?

Yes, you can opt in or out, at the time of sign up or after sign up, i.e. whenever you like.

Are these Add Ons necessary?

Well, after going through the online session with a bluehost employee, I came to know that these are additional layers of securities. If you don't have them even then you are secure but still it is a better option to have an additional layer of security and privacy.

Payment Options?

Maximum host providers accepts credit cards and paypal. Debit cards won't work.

Android 4.2 to Make Its Way to Galaxy Nexus & Nexus 7

| Saturday, November 17, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

Everyone is waiting for Android Jelly Bean 4.2. Even as you are reading this, it is being loaded onto the Galaxy Nexus (Smartphone) and the Nexus 7 (tablet) as the operating system. This news has definitely stirred interest in potential buyers, as the sales of these devices in some countries has sky rocketed. Right now, it is only available on the unlocked HSPA+ models sold on Google Play’ but is soon expected that the other Nexus devices will soon receive the updated OS. But it was declared that it would not be likely that the Nexus S and the Xoom would receive the update.

Google announced that the Jelly Bean update will be rolled out ‘Over the Air’ to owners. This means that your Smartphone or tablet will check for this every now and then. Of course the roll-out has not been a quick process; in fact some owners are still waiting for the update. This will be especially true for those of you who have purchased your device through a wireless carrier. Unfortunately, Google has always been a bit lax with their updates for the wireless carriers.

On the Nexus 7 you are likely to receive the notification about the update very soon, but if you’re impatient, you can do a manual prompt. How? Disable Wi-Fi, go to Google Services Framework under the App List option of the Settings tab. Then clear the cache and select Force Stop. Once you have done that, enable Wi-Fi again, and go to System under About Tablet option of the Settings menu. You should be able to see the update, and start download. Of course, it may not work always, but you can try your luck.

If you are a tech geek you can also try the manual installation after downloading it from Google. So what glad tidings will Android Jelly Bean 4.2 bring? Let’s take a look-see:
  • Enhanced Performance
  • Super fast user interface
  • Greater stability
  • Smooth multi tasking
  • User profiles so multiple users can be supported. Each user can personalize the device (home screen, widgets, apps, background, games) according to their preference.
  • Gesture typing: just slide your fingers across the keyboard, no need to actually tap the keys
  • Improved camera experience
  • Wi-Fi sharing
  • Quick settings: one swipe opens up an entire menu of settings that most Nexus 7 users change most often, like rotation lock, Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi and so on.
  • Daydream: a screensaver that displays interesting info like stored picture, Google Currents news, and so on, when your device is idle.
  • Buttery graphics and silky transitions for an overall smooth experience
  • Much greater responsiveness
  • Boosting of the CPU on touch, and turning down when not in use
  • NFC capability means you can beam pictures and videos to another NFC capable device
  • Enhanced widgets and greater accessibility
  • Photo Sphere: a new method of taking panoramic photos
  • Ability to mirror your mobile device screen onto your HDTV
  • Bug fix for Google Talk

Hands On with Samsung Chromebook

| Thursday, November 15, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

Samsung ChromebookXE303C12, the third generation OS device which was expected for a long time owing to its low cost has hit the market. This Chromebook is thin, lightweight and inexpensive perfect forthose in need of a powerful browser. However, you need to compromise with the performance and quality of the Chromebook in certain areas. Are you a cloud lover? This device which comes at a cost of $249 is perfect for cloud storage and computing.

Price

Does the price really make a huge difference? Yes, in today’s technology world, a low cost Chromebook is surprising. What is a Chromebook? For those of you who are not familiar about Chromebooks, it is nothing but a laptop which works on the Google browser“Chrome OS”. The same applies to the new product Samsung Chromebook. This machine can be accessed easily and surfing the web can never be easier. Samsung Chromebook is of great use to those of you who rely less on the traditional softwares.

If you are more interested in Google Cloud, Google Drive, Gmail and other Google Docs, Samsung Chromebook will remain as your best choice. This machine switches on quickly and has incredible battery life.Chromebook performs reasonably well in many areas, but if you multi-task opening numerous browsers at the same time, stay clear from this tablet.

Design

XE303C12 Chromebook is petite, thin, light and has a screen size of about 11.6 inches. This is a unique device with a low power processor Cortex A 15 and a memory space of about 2GB. This is much less when compared to other Chromebooks and laptops in the market. This compact device is a little bit thicker than the 11 inch MacBook Air from Apple. It is featured with a chiclet keyboard, large touch pad and a groove to flip the screen up using your thumb.

The screen has good resolution with enough brightness but you cannot play full HD on this device. The speakers that are placed at the bottom do not produce pleasant sounds.  They are good for casual use but still, it gets better with external speakers and headphones.  The keyboard is not backlit and the body of the laptop is flexible. The SD card slot and microphone jack is comfortably seated on the left corner of the laptop. USB ports and HDMI ports are placed at the back side. As in most of the laptops, webcam is positioned on top of the screen with a flash memory of 16GB. You can also lean on Google drive to save documents like videos, photos, music, letters and others.

Chrome Operating System

This laptop is completely based on Chrome OS. If you are not satisfied with Chrome OS, you need to stay away from Samsung Chromebook.  Chrome Operating system is perfect to perform several activities online.  However, it is not possible to run popular programs like Skype, iTunes, Portal 2, Spotify, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and the like. Most of the times, you might need a  laptop to check mails, read news, make bank payments or spend  some time on Social sites. An economical device is apt for this and Samsung Chromebook serves this purpose. It does come with some latest technologies like 3G network connection which can be bought for an additional cost.

Complaints

The biggest area where XE303C12 Chromebook loses is in its performance type. The device struggles to load when multiple browsers are opened.Problems like sluggish texts, difficulty in scrolling up and down can be experienced frequently. Also, if you are viewing a YouTube video and moving to another task, the video pauses automatically. Video or photo editing can never be imagined in this laptop. The delete button on the right which is usual in a Windows keyboard is gone missing. If you type more, this loss might be very excruciating. Also, absent are the page up and page down buttons which can be done using the Alt up and Alt down combinations.

Verdict

Overall, Samsung Chromebook XE303C12 is a solid device good to perform occasional online tasks. If you want to use it for business purpose, erase this from your list.If you are new to laptops and would like to get used to it, Samsung Chromebook is advised.

How to check and update browser's plugins

| Wednesday, November 14, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

First of all,

What is a plugin?

A plug-in is a set of software that adds extra functionality to some other software. In a web browser, you add Adobe flash, reader, etc. are there which help in execution of flash and Java content. These are third party softwares, that is, these plugins are not created by the same vendor that created your browser.

These plugin require frequent updates, so that you can have newest possible features, bug fixes, lesser security issues. That is why you are required to have these plug-ins updated as soon as possible. But again the problem is that you may have no knowledge of what plugins are installed except a few.

In web browser, you can check the plugins already installed.

How to check?

Just visit this link. It will automatically display all the plugins. It will also show Up to date and outdated plugins.

Research plugin?

Some plugins may show "Research". Now, what it does is that it searches the web with keywords like- current version plugin [Name of the plugin]. Now, you will get the search results, but this time you need to read the content and this time it is not sure you will get an update for that plugin, becuase the process is manual.

Tablets You Can Consider for Holiday Purchase

| Tuesday, November 13, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

There are many tablets being released by top brands like Apple, Samsung, Asus and Sony to name a few. Here is a list of tablets you would consider buying this holiday:

iPad 3:

iPad 3 is the latest tablet from Apple, it is difficult to tell the difference between the iPad 2 an the latest one as they look remarkably similar. The main difference between the two is the changes and functions on the innards of the new iPad 3. What makes iPad 3 one of the best available tablets is that it comes with IOS 5.1 and the Retina display which is not available with the older versions. The A5X processer is upgraded and is used along with a quad core graphic. The iPad 3 has a VGA sensor given in the front and a 5MP camera behind. Retina display is currently the best screen display and it is best for watching movies and videos in HD without any pixels.Price: Starts at $499

iPad mini:

This device does not come with Retina display but a user will never be able to tell the difference in the screen resolution, because the normal 10” display found in regular iPads is bought down to 7.9” as the screen size is decreased pixel density is increased that is 163 pixels per inch for the iPad mini. Whereas the normal iPads have 132 pixels per inch, the display is good enough for watching movies and playing games and also for reading e-books. The color reproduction sensors and the brightness are far better than the iPad 2. The pictures are very crisp and pleasing to the eye even when watched from different viewing angles. Watching a movie with friends on a mini is possible as four to five persons sitting side by side will get a bright and clear pictures. The iPad mini runs on a dual-core CPU that is 1GHz with a RAM of 512 MB which is the same setup for the iPad 2. Since the mini is lot smaller than the iPad 2 the efficiency is more.Price: Starts at $329

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0):

The polycarbonate lining along with the metal finish and the rounded edges gives the Galaxy Tab a fresh and design and the textured back also provides firm grip. The feel and use of the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) is definitely high end and solid. The screen display for 7.0 is 600 x 1,280 with a plane lining switch display. The color balance is brighter and has superior contrast when compared with other tablets. This tab powered by a dual-core processer that is 1GHz 4430 TI OMAP. The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) runs on Android’s ICS 4.0 which is slightly outdated but works wonders. Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) comes with Touchwiz which is an Android skin. This feature is loaded with many useful widgets and Samsung apps that are preinstalled.Price: Around $250

Google Nexus 7:

The Nexus is one good looking and compact tablet, unlike most tablets that look like they are a bigger version of a smart phone the Nexus 7 is ultra slim and weighs only 340g. The Nexus 7 is the perfect gadget to have for those who are constantly on the move. When compared with other gadgets with similar pricing, the Nexus 7 is extremely fast because it uses Android’s Jelly Bean OS which is a Tegra 3 quad-core processer. Downloading speeds for this tab can reach up to 1.2GHz. The screen display is 216 pixels per inch and the resolution is 800x1280 displays HD. Customizing the Nexus 7 is quite easy, widgets and apps can be arranged to the users need.Price: Starts at $200These are some of the best tablets you could consider buying for this holiday season.

Pros and Cons of Google Adwords

| Thursday, November 08, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

Google is undoubtedly the largest search engine in the world. Having your business on the front page for all to see is a hot spot to be in and people are clamouring for it.  Google Adwords is a tool that allows this to happen for anyone. And it’s helping to drive traffic to websites and build small businesses up online.

What is Google Adwords?

Google Adwords is Google’s paid-for advertising service which allows you to post adverts of your business on Google to get a spot on the front page.  You will have seen them before, they’re small worded advertising pieces placed along the top, side and bottom of Google’s pages, faintly highlighted in yellow.
They work by responding to searches. When someone does a search in Google, the most relevant adwords adverts are selected and then auctioned by Googlebots to find out which is the most relevant to be shown on that search page.

What’s So Good About It?

  • First and foremost, the greatest thing about Google Adwords is that it allows you to appear on the front page of the largest search engine in the world. Those who appear at the top of searches are the first thing that people see when they get their results back from Google. Even if they don’t click on you, they’ll start to recognise your name.
  • It’s quick to set up the basics of Google Adwords. Although there are some in depth features to master, getting your campaign off the ground takes 15 minutes or so. You just input your details, work out your budget, write your advert and you’re ready to go. As soon as Google has approved it, it goes into the search engine. Quick as a flash!
  • It’s good for all types of companies as it doesn’t have to be expensive. As you can set up your own budget on a daily basis, it means that you don’t have to worry about forking out more money than you have on advertising. If your business can only spare $20 a day, that’s all you pay for and when it’s gone, no more adverts come up for that day. It’s a great tool for working within your means.

What’s Not So Good About It?

  • It can be a little restrictive as a tool. Unlike social media marketing, you only get a few characters to play with as opposed to whole posts with the potential of multimedia. With only 25 characters in the title, 35 characters over two lines in the body and 35 characters for the URL, you may find you can’t do your business justice in such a small space or justify the overall cost of such a tiny advert. For example, say you sell Ferrari watches, how can you set your Ferrari watch company apart from others selling the same product in a total of 35 characters? It’s not easy.
  • It can turn into an expensive feat if you’re not careful. Google Adwords is ‘Pay per Click’. What this means is that you pay every time someone clicks on your advert; not when they buy something, or when they spend a certain amount of time on your site, when they click. Regardless of whether the click leads to a sale or not is irrelevant; so you need to work out as a company if your conversion rate is good enough to justify spending that kind of money.
  • Additionally, there have been several cases where businesses have been running unethical sabotage schemes through Google Adwords. By continuously clicking on their competitor’s adverts, they run down their daily budget, with the hope of seeing them out of the game due to no traffic coming to their website, or just going bust from the advertising campaign.
  • It eats away at your time as it can be a complicated tool to use and needs a lot of monitoring. A great deal of the process is attempting to understand which adverts work for your business and which don’t so you need to constantly review the adverts that generate traffic to your website, and that results in a conversion.
The overall point here is that Google Adwords is a tool, that used in the right way can be a great budget option for advertising and generating website traffic. However, you need to be prepared to spend a great deal of time on it, and when you need traffic fast, there are perhaps other systems which will ultimately get you there quicker.

Samsung Flaunts Galaxy Premier I9260 Smartphone

| Wednesday, November 07, 2012 | | Be first to comment!

Samsung seems to have its own bag of prolific mobile phones. Sometimes it makes you wonder how Apple with its limited range can ever challenge the supremacy of Samsung’s array of phones. The Korean maker has time and again proved that they are the clear winners when it comes to mobile phones or other electronic gadgets.

After the sizzling success of Samsung Galaxy S3, it was time for Samsung to announce its new Galaxy Note 2. The Note 2 witnessed a reasonable amount of success. Samsung’s range of mobile phones is so many that it can now be called as the new Nokia (Nokia previously boasted an array of mobile phones against its name).

Here is yet another new phone waiting to add to Samsung’s phone mass. The new Samsung Galaxy Premier I9260 is an intermediate phone between the powerful SamsungS3 and its imitator, the Galaxy S3 Mini. With its 4.65 inch Super AMOLED screen (with touch controls), the new phone runs on 4.1 Jelly Bean Android operating system.

Design and Specs

The new high-end phone from Samsung is a filler between the recently-announced Galaxy Mini and the and the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S3. It sports a capacitive touch screen with specifications as stated above. The phone’s pixel density is approximately 316 ppi. To complement the Jelly Bean operating system, the phone also houses a Dual core TI OMAP 4470 processor along with 1GB RAM.

Multimedia and Camera Features

The S3 features an eight MP primary camera with LED flash and autofocus features. There are other added features like face detection, GEO tagging, and touch focus. On the rear side lies the 2 MP secondary camera with video calling capabilities. This is an idea phone if you want to watch videos and movies in a variety of formats like DIVX, MP4, WMV, XviD, H.264 , WMV, H.263 and many more. Music formats supported by the phone is not short of variety with the phone supporting WAV, MP3, eAAC+, FLAC, and AC3.

Connectivity and other Features

The Premier runs on quad band 3G and 2G. The phone supports Bluetooth V 4.0, NFC and micro USB 2.0 to stay in line with the connectivity needs of modern mobile phone users. Users can make transactions with kiosk and physical stores, transfer data from one device to the other and do many more using the list of connectivity options provided. The phone can be used to browse Internet using EDGE, GPRS, Wi-Fi and 3G via any browser like Chrome browser or any other browser.

Storage and battery

The phone is available in 8GB and 16 GB variant (internal memory) for all your data storage requirements. You can further expand the internal memory up to 32GB     by inserting a microSD card. The phone is powered by a 2100 mAH lithium-Ion battery that can stand up to twelve hours of talk time in 3G mode.

Final Say

With the new Galaxy Premier I9260, Samsung has ensured that it has one for everybody’s needs. The Premier simply adds one plus to Samsung’s basket of good mobile phones. However, Samsung might have missed a trick or two by not adding a WOW factor to its new phone. It seems to repeat its good work in the S3 and the S3 mini.

Check Your System's Requirements

Every software program comes with system requirements. You must be certain your computer has the available minimum resources needed to install the WordPress software program or update. If you try to install any software program and do not have the minimum systems requirements available, you increase the vulnerability of your site and system. If you are unsure about the compatibility of your system with the software requirements, check with your hosting company. You can also go online to the WordPress site and find out what minimum requirements apply to your chosen core program. Then, search your computer hard drive to find out what is available.

Update Your WordPress Core Software

When using any software, you will get regular notices about newly released updates. It is too easy to brush these aside. To keep your WordPress site as secure as possible, you must download the current updates. You need to know that about 70% of malware cases are due to using outdated software. Updates protect software by fixing security compromises, offering some new functionality features and/or replacing an outdated released software version. Not only does this protect your computer from potential harm, but it helps your site's visitors experience a safe and harmless experience.

How to know if the website is running on Blogger or WordPress?

WordPress developers continually work on improving WordPress products. They make it as easy as possible to keep your site updated. Many WordPress software programs come with a one-click automatic update feature in WordPress. The update is quick, painless and very user-friendly. Look in your WordPress admin panel for it.

Update Your Plugins

WordPress has a number of beneficial plugins available to make both the site owner's and visitors experience more useful and enjoyable. Before deciding upon one, improve your site's security by reading a variety of reviews about the plugin and the developer. When keeping your WordPress site secure, you must remember to regularly update your plugins. As with any software program, plugins are continually updated to reduce risks of security vulnerabilities, incompatibilities and improve user experiences.

If you have inactive plugins uploaded to your WordPress site, eliminate them from your server. You not only need to disable them in your WordPress admin area, you must eliminate them completely from your server. Many users do not realize that even though they have disabled plugins from their WordPress site, vulnerable script still exists on the server. This makes inactive plugins perfect breeding grounds for hackers to gain access to your site. Go into your WordPress admin section, click on plugins and investigate which plugins you have on your site. Click on the Installed Plugins. Determine which one you currently use, and make certain you are using the current version. Also, determine which plugins are inactive, and delete them from your site. Go into your plugins sidebar, on your WordPress admin portion, and notice how each plugin is listed individually. Each plugin will allow you to edit, activate, delete, update, or deactivate. The process to eliminate, or delete, is a one-click process.

A few plug-ins worth checking out:

Update Google Analytics

Google Analytics provides any WordPress owner with a way to optimize their site to bring in viewers, increase sales and provide a lead generation target market list. Since Google continually upgrades versions of all products and services they develop, you need to be certain you have only the most recently developed versions on your site. Go into your plugin area, and make certain the most current version is available. If not, WordPress allows you to view information about the current version before actually downloading it to your site. You will be provided a link to the actual plugin site, to make the process easy and convenient.

Check Your Theme

Themes, the same as plugins, go through a separate testing process from your WordPress core software. Make certain you read reviews about themes before deciding upon one. Due to this, you must be certain you are using the current versions. Check to be sure your theme is current and that it has most recent updates installed on your server.

Also, you need to check that your site does not have a variety of unused or inactive themes installed. When you were deciding upon a theme, you may have downloaded various themes to your server to see what it looks like and how it could benefit your site. You must go through your WordPress admin area and clean out your inactive or unused themes. Delete them from your server.

Sometimes when themes are determined to contain security vulnerabilities, WordPress developers will put a notice out to the public in an attempt to protect everyone. This offers hackers the perfect opportunity to go to WordPress sites and exploit the vulnerability before owners have a chance to protect their site and/or system. Vulnerabilities allow hackers to redirect websites, engage in SEO spam and/or infect files throughout sites with nonsense comments. Protect yourself by updating your theme as soon as a new version becomes available.

Use Excellent Encryption

It goes without saying that making your site as difficult for hackers to get into increases your security. In addition to having a secure password that is difficult for hackers to figure out, you must make certain your hosting company's server regularly updates and keeps their servers secure.

Keep your encryption software updated to protect your site. Regularly change your password. Use a combination of characters including upper and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols. Developing a 10-character password assures you of a high-level protection against hackers. Protecting yourself against brute force attacks is crucial for the success of your WordPress site, for both you and your user. It is not a hassle, but an investment.

Perform regular scans

Regularly performing malware, anti-virus and security scans of your WordPress site increases your site's security. Remove the bugs from your site. Investing in a good software program to provide piece of mind.
