There are many tablets being released by top brands like Apple, Samsung, Asus and Sony to name a few. Here is a list of tablets you would consider buying this holiday:

iPad 3:

iPad 3 is the latest tablet from Apple, it is difficult to tell the difference between the iPad 2 an the latest one as they look remarkably similar. The main difference between the two is the changes and functions on the innards of the new iPad 3. What makes iPad 3 one of the best available tablets is that it comes with IOS 5.1 and the Retina display which is not available with the older versions. The A5X processer is upgraded and is used along with a quad core graphic. The iPad 3 has a VGA sensor given in the front and a 5MP camera behind. Retina display is currently the best screen display and it is best for watching movies and videos in HD without any pixels.Price: Starts at $499

iPad mini:

This device does not come with Retina display but a user will never be able to tell the difference in the screen resolution, because the normal 10” display found in regular iPads is bought down to 7.9” as the screen size is decreased pixel density is increased that is 163 pixels per inch for the iPad mini. Whereas the normal iPads have 132 pixels per inch, the display is good enough for watching movies and playing games and also for reading e-books. The color reproduction sensors and the brightness are far better than the iPad 2. The pictures are very crisp and pleasing to the eye even when watched from different viewing angles. Watching a movie with friends on a mini is possible as four to five persons sitting side by side will get a bright and clear pictures. The iPad mini runs on a dual-core CPU that is 1GHz with a RAM of 512 MB which is the same setup for the iPad 2. Since the mini is lot smaller than the iPad 2 the efficiency is more.Price: Starts at $329

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0):

The polycarbonate lining along with the metal finish and the rounded edges gives the Galaxy Tab a fresh and design and the textured back also provides firm grip. The feel and use of the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) is definitely high end and solid. The screen display for 7.0 is 600 x 1,280 with a plane lining switch display. The color balance is brighter and has superior contrast when compared with other tablets. This tab powered by a dual-core processer that is 1GHz 4430 TI OMAP. The Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) runs on Android’s ICS 4.0 which is slightly outdated but works wonders. Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) comes with Touchwiz which is an Android skin. This feature is loaded with many useful widgets and Samsung apps that are preinstalled.Price: Around $250

Google Nexus 7:

The Nexus is one good looking and compact tablet, unlike most tablets that look like they are a bigger version of a smart phone the Nexus 7 is ultra slim and weighs only 340g. The Nexus 7 is the perfect gadget to have for those who are constantly on the move.
