Select default operating system during boot up

| Friday, April 06, 2012 | |

Not ready to leave you beloved XP and want to use Windows 7 too. In such conditions you may have two operating systems installed in your machine. But by default the newer version is set as default. Basically, the default is the one that boots up within the specified time if no other operating system is selected.
I had Widows 7 and 8 Consumer Preview with 8 as default.

How to change default operating system?

Go to System Configuration by typing msconfig in run in XP. Or search directly in Windows 7 or later.

In system configuration go to boot tab, from there select the default operating system. Then save the changes.
